The old 2n ran rough and missed so my son in law after tuneing it up with all new parts,found a thread somewhere where a fellow had a problem similar to ours and someone told him to use a fireing order of 1-2-3-4. Well my son in law tried it and the engine smoothed right ...FIRING ORDER - 1,2,4,3 CCW. With timing light, set at 4 BTDC at 350 RPM. You can troubleshoot all the wiring first and then if still a no-go scenario, get into the distributor. 19 years is a long time to go between tune-ups especially if tractor was worked hard.
